Support

Neutral

  • Neutral Neutral - While I would have supported this, I feel the second requirement is just too weak. The voting eligibility of users should not be dependent on if users had seen them in chat (anyone can lie for/against the user or other users could easily forget the user wishing to vote being in chat), and should also not be dependent upon having made a mainspace edit in the last two weeks. As of right now, barely anyone edits here. I would suggest having a voting requirement of having 10+ mainspace edits in total and a week or two having passed since the editing threshold was reached. Oppose

  • Oppose Oppose - Very strong opposition to all but the first. Per TheKorraFanatic, the second requirement is weak. Voting eligibility shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not you've been seen in chat, that's downright ridiculous. Per TheKorraFanatic (again), anyone can lie for/against the user. Wiki policies shouldn't be dependent on whether or not someone's been seen in chat, as other users may not remember the user being in chat. Also, in my honest opinion, mainspace edits DO NOT MATTER. If the user who wishes to vote genuinely wishes to take part in voting on something that has potential to change the wiki/wiki policies dramatically, they should be allowed to vote, regardless of whether or not they have made mainspace edits on the wiki. Taking into account the fact that nobody edits here, I'd say that creating voting policies that are based on edit count isn't wise. As far as the third item goes, I think that changing policies, etc. based on majority isn't wise. Users' reasoning ought to be taken into account and you shouldn't just look at it and decide that because x percent of the votes are for, let's say, support, that you're going to change something, meanwhile x percent of the votes are opposing and the users who voted oppose have good reasoning for their opposition. Most users who choose to vote support on a proposal have no reasoning behind their vote, and if they do have reasons, they don't make any of their reasoning for voting support actually known, they simply put {{Support}}~~~~ and that's it. The result of a vote shouldn't be dependent on percentages, especially if people have solid reasoning for opposing the proposal.  HearthRaven (Message Wall ) (Contrib)
