RPGWriting is a multi-genre role playing club founded by Amanda Rose in May 2014 after breaking away from Starfleet Legacy Alliance. Originally, RPGWriting was formed as a Bulletin Board fleet, similar to the SLA. However, it was not limited to Trek sims. Several sims were created including a Babylon 5 and Star Wars sim. By the end of 2016, the fleet was practically dead as more sims moved to Nova and Discord.
However, RPGWriting would see new life in 2019 after Amanda Rose, Beeman, RachH, RaWolfe, Sam17101, Star Geek, and Steve Claypole tired of the political problems in Bravo Fleet and their Council. In all, the revitalized RPGWriting started with nearly 20 sims. The new RPGWriting, rather than being a traditional fleet, is decentralized, as the purpose of RPG Writing is to offer individuals a place to write creatively. The group as a whole intends to give as much support and freedom as realistically possible to Game Managers (GMs) as they write their stories regardless of genre. It strives for excellence in a productive environment where individuals are able to develop their creative writing, world-building, and character development skills. RPGWriting's goal is to be ambassadors to the simming and creative writing communities. The goal is to create a place where people can relax and have fun.
RPGWriting won the 2020 Squiddie award for its efforts to create a single cohesive fleet from among many different genres for its member sims.
