A Play-by (PB for short) is an actor or other entertainment figure used to represent a character in a roleplay - that actor is seen as 'playing' the character and provides their physical appearance for said character.
Many sites keep listings of play-bys, known as face claims, to avoid duplication of such, especially when there is only a single universe.
